NY subpoenas Facebook over predator concerns

New York State Attorney General Andrew Cuomo said Monday his office has subpoenaed Facebook, accusing the social-networking site of not keeping young users safe from sexual predators and not responding to user complaints.

In a letter accompanying a subpoena for documents, Cuomo said a preliminary review revealed defects in Facebook’s safety controls and in its response to complaints. He said the shortcomings contrasted with assurances made by the company.

VH1 Mobile Launches Pop Up Video To Go, a New Made-For-Mobile Original

VH1, a division of Viacom’s MTV Networks, redefined the music video experience when it premiered its on-air sensation “Pop Up Video” in the mid 90s. Now, beginning today, VH1 Mobile launches a new made-for-mobile version of the hugely popular VH1 series. Just like its on-air counterpart, Pop Up Video To Go displays “info-nuggets” — graphic factoids that “pop” onto the mobile screen during music videos, giving viewers inside information, trivia and video production facts about their favorite artists and songs.
